2010 Overview. Changes are certainly in store for you this year, dear Sagittarius, and mostly of the pleasant variety! This summer, you will find that your natural enthusiasm and sense of humor returns with gusto. Optimism, however, can take a few shots as you face some botched plans and practical concerns, but you have a sense of making progress and of looking forward with freshness. You might be less patient with people who are too conservative or not as responsive and open as you, and some friendships are likely to face tests this year. The process may not always be pleasant, but in the end, you will be sorting out who is a true friend, and who is simply a fairweather friend. Interestingly, you will find that as one door shuts another seems to magically open. You are also called upon to come up with more solid plans for your future--not something that a spontaneous person like yourself enjoys doing, but you will find it worthwhile and, ultimately, comforting. The major axis of change this year involves the following areas: finances, romance, children, recreation, and friendships. You are taking a different approach to money these days, reshuffling it and coming up with new plans, but it can be hard to really find yourself ahead. This summer, you can expect a stronger desire for independence and you might come up with some exciting plans for the future. They still need work. The cosmic weather in 2010 is changeful and fast-paced, but not very stable or extremely positive for pushing forward with totally new endeavors. As adventurous as you are, 2010 pulls you closer to home and family. Most of the year, family matters are stabilized and actually a source of great pleasure, joy, and increase. Some of you are moving into bigger or at least more spacious accommodations. Others are finding family members more supportive of their needs and wants. In some cases, too, the increased focus on family and home can feel a little too excessive! If you are itching to travel or get away from it all, try to do so April or May and later. The first few months of the year can bring delays with these matters and an overall feeling of sluggishness. Better periods for love and pleasure are March 21-31, when you more easily attract who and what you want from life, and November 21-December 7, when your confidence attracts. 2010 Details. Jupiter entering Pisces on January 17th places Jupiter in your home and family sector. From January 17th until June, and then again from September 2010 to January 2011, you are likely to see benefits to home, family, property, and domestic comfort matters. Much joy and pleasure can be found in your family connections and experiences and/or your home life during this cycle. An increased sense of security and safety may be derived from your domestic life. Improvements to your home life, family, and basic psychological foundation are in focus. You might find that inner and personal experiences are more important to you during this cycle than more worldly ones. Opportunities to buy or sell real estate for financial gain may present themselves. Home improvements and renovations are favored, as is moving to a new dwelling (more spacious or larger homes are likely now). Some of you may buy or sell a house, and others may welcome a new addition to the family. You may move to a larger or more comfortable home; or you might enhance your existing home in such a way that makes you feel happier, perhaps by de-cluttering your space. Long-standing family problems may be ironed out. Relationships with parents and other family members go well. You may find enjoyment in getting in touch with your roots or family traditions. There could be a family reunion, vacation, or other happy events that reconnect you to your roots. Your parents may help you financially or an inheritance is possible for some of you. You take more pleasure in nurturing others. A stronger sense of psychological well-being may come now, as you take less interest in more worldly ambitions and activities. These positive circumstances won't necessarily fall into your lap, and are unlikely to come all at once. You need to keep your eyes open for opportunities in these areas of life. The most favorable periods for these matters occur while Jupiter is in direct motion in your solar fourth, from January 17 through June 6, and then from November 18-January 22/11. Saturn continues to transit your solar eleventh house until April 7th, and then again from July 21st forward, indicating the strengthening of ties with a special friend or group. You are becoming more selective about how you spend your time and with whom you spend your time. Events or realizations during this period inspire you to question where it is that you are going. Your long-term personal goals come under Saturn's scrutiny. How you fit in with others, your affiliations with people and groups, and your peers all become serious matters in your eyes. You may come to the conclusion that your personal "circle" or your networks are superficial or somehow unsatisfying. You may feel alienated as you began to see them for what they are worth, or what they aren't worth. You might feel some disdain for the superficial workings of casual friendships, beginning to feel uncomfortable and self-conscious about "going through the motions", doing and saying the right things, and so forth. Alternatively, you might meet someone with whom you establish a serious friendship, or you might become a member of a group or affiliation that you devote much of your time to. These themes continue this year and the next. Weeding out what seems now to be superfluous social associations from your life is very likely at this time as you become more serious about what you want, on a personal level, from your life. You take a hard look at the role you play in others' lives, and consider exactly what it is that satisfies you and contributes to your happiness, beyond marriage, romance, career, religion, and so forth. At some point through this journey, you should begin to find ways to bring definition and articulation to your innermost wishes and hopes for your personal path. A more solid sense of belonging is experienced now. You know whom you can rely upon, and they know they can rely upon you! Saturn sextiles your Sun this year, and long-term goals for personal fulfillment come into focus, giving you a sense of moving forward in a positive direction. Some added responsibilities are likely during this period, but they are not felt to be burdens. In fact, you are likely to find satisfaction in doing your share. One of the key elements of success this year involves humbling yourself to the advice of older persons, authority figures, or parents. These people are likely to help you further your goals, and a non-defensive reaction will allow you to listen and take out of it what works for you. Some of your past efforts may be rewarded now, perhaps in small but tangible ways. This is a time when you invest in yourself and in the people around you that you respect. Benefits may not be immediate, but they will surely arrive down the road. Projects begun now can have long-term benefits. Finances are likely to be stronger and more reliable now. Saturn returns to your solar tenth house from April 7th to July 21st, and this can bring closure to, or the need for re-evaluation of, issues you have been dealing with regarding your career, reputation, or professional interests. This cycle is closing in your life, and has represented a time in your life when you have been challenged to build a secure foundation in your professional and/or most public life. Some of you find yourself receiving recognition and career "rewards" at this time. If this transit occurs in early adulthood, it is a time when you truly have begun to face your duties as a career person. Saturn's transit of the tenth house has been an eye-opening one—a time when you are working hard, taking on your fair share of duties and responsibilities, and either reaping some of the rewards of your hard work or facing the consequences of poor choices. You become aware of what you have and haven't accomplished to date. You no longer view your place in the world, your career, and your reputation with rose-colored glasses. Saturn leaving this sector of your chart can be felt as the release of pressure and can be quite relieving for some of you. The influences of Uranus and Neptune are similar to last year. Your home life may continue to be in a state of flux this year. It's possible that you move house this year, but even if you don't, there could be some disruptions to your domestic routine or erratic elements on the home front that you need to deal with. Neptune continues to transit your third house, as it has been doing for a number of years. During this cycle, you have been learning to rely on your intuition. You may have had some problems arising from your inattention to details, practical matters, and facts and figures. Others may have found you less reliable in terms of making appointments on time or remembering them at all! Some challenges putting your thoughts into words likely leads to a stronger appreciation for such things as musical lyrics, poetry, and other art forms that experiment with modes of expression. This year, you are likely to discover more imaginative means of expressing yourself. With your ruler, Jupiter, in Pisces and your solar fourth house much of the year, you are more inclined towards introspection than you were last year while Jupiter was in Aquarius and your communicative third house. A more spiritual or meditative approach to your life may figure now. Jupiter's brief visit to the sign of assertive Aries from June to September, however, is the exception. A more spontaneous and enterprising spirit is with you during this period, and will return in 2011. Eclipses this year mostly fall in your solar second and eighth houses. You will be learning about the comfort levels of important others in your life. Essentially, you are learning to share and to surrender yourself (in a balanced manner!) to intimacy. You may also get a cosmic push to make necessary financial changes in your life. Sharing issues come into focus, as do issues of power--what's yours and what's mine. Your comfort zones matter, and now is the time to take care of your own needs without eclipsing the needs of others. Jupiter conjuncts Uranus on June 8th and September 18th in 2010. This exciting aspect occurs in your solar fifth house in June and your solar fourth house in September. It's a time when the need for progressive change suddenly becomes apparent. We might take risks (perhaps, but not necessarily, foolish ones) for the sake of freedom under the Jupiter-Uranus influence. We can open ourselves up to new ways of thinking now. However, we could also too easily avoid taking responsibility for things that truly matter. We're open to new energies, approaches, and attitudes. Fortunate events occur as a direct result of our willingness to entertain the unusual and to think outside of the box. We are feeling brave, positive, and optimistic. In June, impulsiveness and/or new insights or surprises can come in areas ruled by the fifth house, such as romance, creativity, children, and hobbies or recreation. For some of you, unusual and exciting romantic experiences are possible. You are inclined to take chances on creative or romantic levels. Something might inspire you to try out a new creative hobby or adventure, for example. In September, excitement on the home front is likely with this Jupiter-Uranus duo in your sector of home and family. New and exciting energy is brought to your domestic life. There may be a scurry of activity at this time, or opportunities that seem to come out of the blue. Jupiter's alignment with Uranus twice this year has strong effects on you because Jupiter is your ruler. It places a big focus on communication and self-expression for you. While much of the year your focus is on inner wellness, comfort, and safety, you are also finding your voice and valuing your freedom. Many of you will be focusing on learning, improving your skills set, and possibly writing or speaking in new ways.
