Major Love Trends in 2012

Love in 2012 may be complicated at times, dear Gemini, but mostly happily so!

Venus, the planetary ruler of your romance sector and the goddess of love, is retrograde this year from May 15-June 27, which affects all of us in general, mainly in the areas of love and finances. These matters are not straightforward during this period, and it is a time for reviewing our attitudes rather than forging ahead boldly into new love relationships or financial projects.

Now, Venus retrograde cycles always have more impact on you when it comes to relationships and love because Venus rules your romance sector. This time around is sort of a "double whammy" because Venus is occupying your sign during this retrograde cycle. This is somewhat unusual, because whenever Venus occupies your sign, you tend to enjoy special attention from love interests--a lover or love interest is generally on the same page as you, or at the very least, has your best interests at heart. You have the upper hand in love when Venus works her way through Gemini, which she does for a longer period than usual this year, from April 3-August 7. But from May 15-June 27, Venus is retrograde and that typically points to some cooling off in love relationships. So for this period of time, you and a lover might both be going through a period of review or confusion. A lover or love interest might appear to be very much in your corner, but could be giving off mixed signals. The good news is that Venus will continue to move through your sign from June 27-August 7, and you are likely to enjoy the attention as well as the time to get more comfortable in your own skin.

Jupiter is the ruler of your committed partnerships sector, and is moving through your privacy and soul sector until June, after which Jupiter is in your own sign - a blessing indeed! Until June, some of you could be dealing with endings of a relationship or with private matters revolving around a partnership. It's a time for release or "clean up", and this doesn't have to be an actual ending - it can involve cleaning up bad attitudes and unhealthy patterns. With eclipses falling along your "me" versus "you" axis this year as well, there can be a push to improve or do away with unhealthy connections.

From June forward, Jupiter's move through your sign not only stimulates joie de vivre in your life, because Jupiter is your partnership ruler, it can point to strong opportunities to attract or enhance a committed relationship. Others tend to be supportive of you in general, and especially a partner or best friend, during this period that runs from June 2012 to June 2013. You're more likely to feel its positive effects from July forward because of the Venus retrograde cycle mentioned above.

Another indication that love becomes happier is Saturn's departure from your romance sector in October. While Saturn's influence in your romance sector has been constructive overall, it's also been a rather heavy energy.

May 15-June 27 is the Venus retrograde period. If you can, avoid making any major decisions about love (and finances) during this cycle.

However, from April 3-August 7, Venus is in your sign. This is a time when the world seems to be speaking, or at least appreciating, your "love language". It's a period ripe with opportunity for attracting others, for turning on the charm, and for receiving positive feedback from partners or love interests. Love seems to come to you without the need for your pursuing it. With the possible exception of the retrograde cycle mentioned immediately above, this is a strong period for you for love matters.

Mars moves through your romance sector from July 3-August 23, and Eros moves through the same affectionate, playful sector from May 23-July 20.
