Each Venus-Mars combination is interpreted in terms of elements (Fire, Earth, Air, and Water) and is then refined in terms of signs. At times, you are torn between the desire for an "ordinary" life and the
need for adventure and excitement. This is because you need a good
measure of reliability in a romantic relationship in order to feel
loved, but you also require a fair dose of emotional energy and a sense
of movement. You are somewhat possessive in love, and you absolutely
hate to be ignored. You are a sensualist at heart, and you prefer to
slow down to let yourself take in everything; yet your sexual nature is
quick, somewhat impatient, and to the point! As such, you have a
contradictory nature on romantic and sexual levels, and you may not only
confuse a partner, but also yourself at times! As sensual as you are,
the experience is also extremely important to you. You look for a
partner who is reliable and practical. Romantically speaking, you are
quite content and somewhat traditional. Sexually speaking, you love the
chase and the conquest. Your needs for both spontaneity and forethought
in relationships may seem conflicting--and at times this will be a
challenge. However, if you can maintain a relationship that is secure
and adventurous at the same time, you will be at your happiest.
Venus and Mars in signs that are quincunx: The things that please you romantically and the things that please you sexually are quite different. What makes you feel loved and desired does not necessarily satisfy you on the level of desire and instinct, and vice versa. One partner could have a hard time attempting to fill your needs.
