Our Review:

It has been such a pleasure to review this book! I thought I would take it in a couple chapters at a time, but ended up reading half of the book one day and finishing it the next, simply because it was a fascinating read.

Years of research went into this book that explores the astrology of a devastating shipwreck, the sinking of the Titanic. Both beginning and advanced students of astrology (and anywhere in between) will find Eileen Grimes' story and research captivating. The investigation goes beyond the astrology of the disaster itself, exploring the ship's "family tree", the "players" connected to the disaster (past and present), and an exploration of an intriguing phenomenon the author calls "titanic degrees". These degrees were the missing link that tied the Titanic's sinking to those involved directly with the event and those whose lives are/were deeply touched by the tragedy. The book's short biographies are stirring, and range from the Titanic's captain, to a little boy who was a third-class passenger on the ship, to an author who wrote a seemingly prophetic work of fiction with eerily powerful connections to the Titanic years before the wreck.

The Moon's Nodes, Neptune, and Mercury Retrograde are astrology topics that get a lot of attention in Titanic Astrology.

The concept of "titanic degrees" is food for thought, even for those of us (myself included) who don't have these particular degrees accented in our personal charts. A sub-theme of the book is discovering--and following--one's passion, for which Eileen Grimes has provided us a role model (herself!). After reading this book, I came away with a desire to investigate other possible "grand designs" meaningful to me. I also came across a few discussions that I could easily personalize, leaving me with some new insights into my own little world. My guess is that other readers will find their own little such gems in Titanic Astrology as well.
