Daily Trends
The FULL MOON occurs on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024, at 7:49 PM EDT.
On Tuesday evening, a Full Moon occurs when the Sun in Taurus forms an opposition to the Moon in Scorpio. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time – a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
The Taurus-Scorpio polarity deals with the balance between all that is mine (Taurus) and all that is yours (Scorpio). It also emphasizes the concept of form (Taurus) versus transformation (Scorpio).
While Taurus deals with matter, personal values, material goods, possessions, and security, Scorpio rules the destruction of form, shared possessions, change, and transformation. The Sun in Taurus encourages happiness with the simple, tangible things in life, while the Scorpio Moon draws our attention to complexities, intangibles, and mysteries.
Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about emotional declarations. Something has been building inside of us, likely of an intimate nature, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out.
Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this declaration means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings — we need to express them. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between collecting and sharing. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives.
However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as emotions burst forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is new and not particularly rational as yet.
The chart:
This phase of the Moon occurs at 4 degrees and 18 minutes of Scorpio opposite the Sun at the same degree of Taurus, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 0 to 8 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) most significantly.
Full Moons are about exposing or illuminating issues that are already there, but that have not yet been dealt with. Where does the Full Moon fall by house in your natal chart? Read more here.
We have conviction and tenacity, and we are willing to make necessary changes, but there can be some tension and perhaps paranoia or resistance involved with our revelations now with the lunation’s square to Pluto.

This week: The Sun is in Taurus; Mercury is in Aries; Venus is in Aries; Mars is in Pisces.
The Sun is in Taurus from April 19-May 20. In Taurus, the Sun is methodical, sensual, and receptive. The Sun in Taurus is most active when it is defending or resisting! As the Sun moves through Taurus when plants take root, our determination and security needs are strong. Taurus is loyal to all that is familiar and values longevity. The shadow side of Taurus is possessiveness and bullheadedness.
The Sun in Taurus is the connoisseur and sensualist. It’s patient, stubborn, earthy, stable, and rooted. The Sun-in-Taurus cycle is a good one for maintaining or building, as well as enjoying and appreciating what’s already in place. While the Taurus Sun is slow to warm up, it’s stable and persevering once it does. We value what’s long-term, strong, and lasting during this phase.
Mercury is in Aries from March 9-May 15. When Mercury is in Aries, we are less concerned with objective viewpoints and explanations, and more concerned with reaching a decision…quickly! Our thoughts and ideas are pioneering, and we tend to speak more spontaneously and directly with the planet of communication in bold and assertive Aries.
There can be quick, possibly impatient or hurried, decisions during this cycle, and our responses are similar: quick and perhaps defensive or combative. We value independent thought, and we can be mentally competitive. executive decisions. We prefer to learn through personal experience, not instruction.
Venus is in Aries from April 4-29. With Venus in Aries, love is spontaneous and direct. The chase is very exciting to us under this fiery influence. We are bold, fresh, and a little impatient when it comes to matters of the heart. We don’t look back with Aries energy. We are not interested in saying sorry or dwelling on the past–it’s a brand new day! It’s time to make things work right now.
Aries is known for a love of the chase and the conquest, but Aries love can be longstanding as long as it remains relatively fresh. Aries is blunt–there’s no sugar-coating with Aries. This can sting, but rarely is Aries energy mean or petty. Saying it like it is is important to the sign. Desires are strong and expressed spontaneously, enthusiastically, and directly. Aries prefers to seduce rather than be seduced, to chase rather than be chased.
While Venus is in Aries, we gravitate to Aries-like activities, pleasures, pastimes, and objects of interest. Our tastes can veer toward action, new enterprise, conquests, courageous or daring acts, and so forth. We can be somewhat impulsive with our money or entertainment choices.
Our interests can be insistent and strong, but possibly short-lived. It’s not the best time for holding onto money. We might pour our resources too quickly into new ventures or projects but tire of these things just as rapidly.
Mars is in Pisces from March 22-April 30. During this cycle, we are less interested in pursuing traditional goals and more motivated to pursue spiritual or emotional drives. We dislike confrontation while Mars is in Pisces. Our output is variable rather than straightforward, and our energy is similarly up and down.
We may prioritize others’ needs over our own, and our more idealistic side may emerge. During this cycle, pursuing what we want becomes less straightforward and more complicated!
However, compassion drives us while Mars is in Pisces. We can be spiritual warriors, or we achieve our goals intuitively and with faith. We can be chameleons, adapting to the current situation quite expertly, although we can also be escape artists, preferring to avoid rather than confront. Our behavior may be passive-aggressive, or we fight for ourselves through confusing or placating our opponent.
Jupiter is in Taurus.
Jupiter begins its transit of Taurus on May 16th, 2023, and it will continue its transit of the sign until May 25th, 2024. Read more about Jupiter’s transit of Taurus.
Saturn transits Pisces from March 7th, 2023 until May 24th, 2025, and Sep 1st, 2025, to Feb 13th, 2026. Read about Saturn’s transit of Pisces.
Uranus is in Taurus.
Uranus transits Taurus from May 15, 2018, to November 6, 2018, and then from March 6th, 2019, until 2025/6. We approach money and personal possessions in new ways and learn to free ourselves from certain material constraints. Innovative ways to make ourselves comfortable emerge. We’re less inhibited about expressing sensuality, self-love, body love, and pampering. Above all, we’re challenging what we previously valued during this cycle.
There can be abrupt changes with money, valuables, possessions, and income that lead to a reshuffling of priorities or values. Income might come from non-traditional sources or ventures. In general, we’re bringing progressive ideas to the world of business. New ways of doing business, as well as making, viewing, and handling money, are likely. Our income and the energy we put into making money can be variable.
Pluto transitions from Capricorn to Aquarius in 2023 and 2024. Read about Pluto’s transit of Aquarius. Pluto retrograded back into Capricorn, and was in Capricorn until January 20th, 2024. Pluto is in Aquarius from January 20th to September 1st, when it will retreat into Capricorn once again. Note: Pluto is slow-moving through the zodiac signs!
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in Aries from April 4-29. In Aries, love is spontaneous and direct. The chase is very exciting to us under this fiery influence. We are bold, fresh, and a little impatient when it comes to matters of the heart. We don’t look back with Aries energy. We are not interested in saying sorry or dwelling on the past. It’s a brand new day! It’s time to make things work right now.
Aries is known for a love of the chase and the conquest, but Aries love can be longstanding as long as it remains relatively fresh. Aries is blunt–there’s no sugar-coating with Aries. This can sting, but rarely is Aries energy mean or petty. Saying it like it is is important to Aries. Desires are strong and expressed spontaneously, enthusiastically, and directly. Aries prefers to seduce rather than be seduced, to chase rather than be chased.
This week: On Sunday, Thursday, and Friday, we’re opening up to love, romance, and connection. Powerful energy is with us for breaking through a problem area in relationships with the goal of repairing and healing. We are open to romantic feelings and more willing than usual to act upon them. This is a good time to make a resolution to repair, heal, and improve relationships.
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Aries Romance at the drop of a hat is part and parcel of the cycle you have just begun. Winning the hearts of others can be a challenge you’re eager to accept – and the thrill of the chase might be most of the fun. Is it the pursuit of happiness – or the happiness of pursuit?
Venus parallel Mercury April 20. A congenial time when we appreciate diplomacy and socialize more readily.
Venus conjunct Chiron April 20-21. Healing energy is brought to love relationships, and a new cycle begins. A commitment-friendly transit. Love can heal old wounds. We are open to romantic feelings, and more willing to act upon them. This is a good time to make a resolution to repair, heal, and improve relationships.
Venus parallel Chiron April 25-26. Love can heal old wounds. We are open to romantic feelings, and more willing to act upon them.
Venus semi-square Saturn April 30. Feelings of isolation, of not getting what we really want, and of not being loved the way we want to be loved can get in the way of pleasant relations with our partners.
Venus square Pluto April 30. Intense passions, but there’s a hidden agenda. Jealousy and possessiveness are high, in direct proportion to fear of losing partnership. Avoid starting a new relationship at this time, because it can be characterized by these energies.
Venus semi-square Neptune May 10. Romantic confusion as well as relationship ups and downs. Self-deceptions may come to light now.
Venus sextile Saturn May 13. Relationships are stabilized and steady, although feelings are expressed reservedly, formally, or sparingly. A new sense of realism in existing partnerships. Relationships begun under this influence possess a distinctly practical theme, almost as if the partnership is a business endeavor.
Venus conjunct Uranus May 17-18. We have a taste for the unusual and the avant garde. We are itching for a change. What makes a person unique is more attractive under this influence. Excitement and newness are valued over permanence in social relationships. Freedom is more important than intimacy just now. We lose our fears of taking risks in love and social situations. Romantic infatuations, gossip, unanticipated opportunities socially or financially. We have a greater need for self-expression, personal freedom, and social excitement.
The Moon & Timing
The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During the Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects.
The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here and is indicative of the “outcome” of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology).
Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart to determine the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass.
The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology. The following tables incorporate the modern planets, but some astrologers do not count Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in void Moon calculations.
The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:
Void-of-course Moon on Monday, April 22nd, from 7:25 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Venus), until the Moon enters Scorpio the next day, Tuesday, April 23rd, at 11:21 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Thursday, April 25th, from 7:17 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Neptune), until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 9:38 PM EDT.
April 2024:
Timing with the Moon – Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives
It’s important to note that there are more factors to consider in addition to the windows listed below. The following windows are starting points. For example, you generally don’t want to elect a new venture when a very challenging aspect is applying, and it’s preferable to elect a time when a particularly positive aspect hasn’t yet perfected (is applying rather than separating).
The Moon is waxing this week until the Full Moon on the 23rd, which is generally considered favorable for new beginnings, with exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details). The Moon is waning after the Full Moon on the 23rd, which is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, also with exceptions.
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs on Thursday, April 25th, from approximately 9:00 AM EDT to 7:15 PM EDT, while the Moon is in Scorpio. Note that Mercury has only just turned direct during this window.

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Venus conjunct Chiron. We have the chance to heal our personal relationships now, as we are more open to intimacy and commitment, as well as to learning from one another. We more easily see beauty in human weaknesses, and are less inclined to see fault, or to concern ourselves with fault. It’s a strong time for building trust in relationships, and for seeing potential in one another, although the process might feel painful! Insecurities are revealed and, ideally, cleansed. A new cycle of healing in love begins now.
Sun square Pluto. Insubordination and abuse of power. Impatience with rules. Compulsiveness. The urge to get to the bottom of matters is with us, but we are too insistent. Avoid beating a dead horse and attempting to force matters that should naturally take time to unfold. Circumstances now can push us to discover our own power–power that comes from a strong sense of self rather than superficial energy derived from manipulating people into doing what we want them to do. Events may occur now that highlight the need to trust.

APRIL 21
Today’s Libra Moon puts balancing and harmonizing on our minds. Fortunately, Venus aligns with Chiron this morning, and it’s a time to express compassion or forgiveness. We may feel drawn to problem areas so that we can repair them. We more readily see the beauty in human weaknesses as well as the pain of growing, healing, and restoring. It’s a solid time to build trust in relationships and see each other’s potential, although the process might feel challenging in spots.
With the Sun and Pluto forming a square today, however, putting our trust in others (or in life/the process) can be difficult as the day advances. This aspect, possibly through discord, helps us identify areas of over-attachment. We might clash with those in authority, or we’re frustrated as our sense of responsibility or fear of loss in our social lives conflicts with our personal plans or sense of security. We may act compulsively and find it difficult to let go and unwind. Positively, circumstances can push us to discover our own power — power that comes from a strong sense of self rather than superficial energy derived from manipulating people into doing what we want them to do. It’s best to aim for self-control now. It’s important to avoid trying to force matters that should naturally take time to unfold. We should also watch for a bit of paranoia or suspicion that works against us. This aspect can bring fears and buried matter to the surface.
APRIL 22
The Moon spends the day in balanced, gracious Libra. Harmony is a goal with this Moon transit, and the lack of it can be emotionally unsettling. As a result, we tend to do more negotiating and accommodating. With the Moon’s opposition to Mercury, Chiron, and then Venus, we can feel torn between wanting company or feedback and preferring to go our own way. Our efforts to remain cheerful could lead to missing opportunities to grow, develop, and improve. There can be a disconnect between our emotions and intellect or sensibilities, and minor disagreements, mainly about sensitivity to feelings, are more likely now. There can be a battle between our need to consult with others and our desire to act independently.
The Moon is void from 7:25 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (an opposition to Venus), until the Moon enters Scorpio the next day, Tuesday, April 23rd, at 11:21 AM EDT.
APRIL 23
The Moon, as it continues its transit of Libra until 11:21 AM EDT, brings a focus on relationships. This is a time when we may feel more gracious, balanced, and fair, and when harmonizing becomes more important than usual. At 11:21 AM, the Moon moves into Scorpio, a sign that raises our passions and determination. The Full Moon occurs in this sign at 7:49 PM, a time that reminds us to consider others’ support, contribution, needs, wants, and input, possibly forcing awareness of relationship imbalances. If we’ve been focusing too closely on our material and comfort needs, we may need this cosmic nudge to embrace intangibles and spiritual growth. Discoveries we make now can have a magical or private quality to them.
The Full Moon is a time of culmination, and with the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic illumination occurs in our lives. These new revelations are emotional ones–feelings burst forth into our consciousness. We have conviction and tenacity, and we are willing to make necessary changes, but there can be some tension and perhaps paranoia or resistance involved with our revelations now with the lunation’s square to Pluto. This can be a good time to recognize patterns, particularly in our emotional world. For example, we might notice a recurring pattern of avoiding conflict. Recognizing these patterns can help us make adjustments and improvements accordingly.
The Moon continues to be void until it enters Scorpio today at 11:21 AM EDT.
APRIL 24
The Moon spends the day in Scorpio, and we’re interested in discovering deeper truths and motives. This Moon draws us to transformative and emotionally engaging experiences. Its trine to Saturn is grounding and stabilizing. We want to be productive, and taking responsibility is not only empowering, but it comes naturally. On this day before Mercury’s direct station, however, there can be some confusion with directions and interpretations, suggesting some need to wait and see.
APRIL 25
The Moon spends much of the day (until 9:38 PM EDT) in the sign of Scorpio. Its opposition to Jupiter and Uranus temporarily places us on the other side of our recent innovations. We could encounter resistance from others or from within. However, these surprising events and resistance can be seen as opportunities for personal growth and understanding, mainly through our relationships and the illumination of a different perspective. This energy is rebellious and touchy, especially if we feel constrained. We may need to deal with distractions and feelings of discontent, which could lead to unexpected tangents. Disruptions now may prompt a desire to explore motivations and understand meanings.
Mercury stations and turns direct today after retrograde motion since April 1st. This shift brings with it the potential for improved communication and decision-making. Over the coming weeks, problems we may have encountered while Mercury was retrograde should start to improve. The answers we’ve been waiting for can arrive. Plans or projects that have stalled might now resume. However, energies that are hard to make sense of can flood our consciousness as the change takes place today such that critical decision-making might be avoided for the time being, as our thinking can be temporarily skewed. It’s not yet a time of keen judgment as we don’t have all the details. However, clarity is coming, and things are moving forward.
The Moon heads into daring Sagittarius at 9:38 PM EDT, where it will transit until Sunday morning. This transition brings with it a sense of hope and possibility, opening our minds to new ideas and experiences. We can feel wonderfully optimistic about the future.
The Moon is void from 7:17 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Neptune), until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 9:38 PM EDT.
APRIL 26
The Moon spends the day in the sign of Sagittarius, inspiring us to seek knowledge and experience. This Moon transit is exploratory, philosophical, and spontaneous. Our focus turns outward, and we set our sights high. Optimism is one of the positive traits of this position; neglecting to see the essential details of a plan is a potential weakness. It can be a time of imagination and intuition when we draw on our internal wisdom. We’re cooperative and sensitive in our decision-making. We enjoy a Venus-Chiron parallel today, and we tend to seek meaningful or spiritual connections and readily tap into our stores of compassion and imagination. It can be a romantic or creative time, and it’s a good time to resolve to repair, heal, and improve relationships.
APRIL 27
Today’s Sagittarius Moon is enthusiastic and idealistic. We’re more optimistic and forward-looking with this transit. We may feel compelled to state our truth and tend to go big with our ideas, ethics, beliefs, causes, and promotions. The Sagittarius Moon encourages us to explore, learn, and discover. We can thoroughly enjoy a sense of mission now–we want to make or do something special today. However, with Venus semi-sextile Mars, we might struggle with whether to take a direct or indirect approach to getting what we want. We may be better off recognizing that it doesn’t have to be one way or the other–a combination would be ideal, or else the see-sawing can be confusing to all.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Libra
Creating order is the focus, not necessarily through tidying or organizing as was the case while the Moon was in Virgo, but rather through pleasing interactions with others and aesthetics in our environment. We tend to solve problems through diplomacy, and we are more able to put aside our own emotions in order to achieve the peace we crave. The tendency now is to avoid direct confrontations. Decisions do not come easily. Seeing both sides to any given situation is the main reason for hesitation. Fear of losing others' approval is another.
The Moon in Libra generally favors the following activities: Relationship and partnership issues, activities involving teamwork and cooperation, activities that involve self-examination, activities related to beauty.
When the Moon is in Scorpio
Intensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it's passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won't work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.
The Moon in Scorpio generally favors the following activities: Taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.
When the Moon is in Sagittarius
The Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don't want to plan ahead, and prefer to "wing it".
The Moon in Sagittarius generally favors the following activities: Adventurous activities that involve "winging it", travel, higher education, starting publishing projects, advertising, sports, physical activity.
Upcoming Weeks: Calendars
THIS WEEK’S PLANETARY POSITIONS BY SIGN (General Trends):
Sun in Taurus The cycle now dawning in your life emphasizes stability, substance, practicality, and the concept of value – value in the material as well as psycho-spiritual sense. This marks a time of building to last, of appreciating the substantial rather than ephemeral. Consolidating past gains rather than focusing on radical new departures is likely to be a major theme for you during this cycle. Appreciating the finer things of life is another hallmark of this phase, which marks a time when you should be concentrating on “smelling the roses” rather than passing them by in such a hurry.
Mercury in Aries New ideas and an independent or pioneering mental orientation take on more importance in your life at this time. Teaching, learning, communicating, and social contact have a way of outlining new directions in your life now, and there is much activity and involvement with these kinds of issues.
Mars in Pisces There’s a martyr complex in the air, now that this new phase has begun in your life. How can you (or anyone) save the world? It’s a question you’ll probably ask yourself as this cycle continues. Defending the weak, undoing injustice, and tilting at windmills can be a big temptation. You might even win a few hands – but you’ll blister a couple if you’re not careful.
Jupiter in Taurus A kind of Midas touch is signaled by the new cycle now dawning in your life. Prosperity and security take center stage in your thoughts; a gentle but committed conservatism brings you all kinds of good things. Take care of the material things, and the spiritual will take care of itself: that’s your orientation now.
Saturn in Pisces Making peace with the past, coming to terms with karmic debts: these are some of the issues that confront you as a new phase begins in your life. Failure to face these things can cause setbacks and put obstacles in your path. Learn to look beyond the narrowly personal and selfish or you’ll get in over your head.
Uranus in Taurus Practicality and ingenuity combine as powerful drives in your life now that you have begun a new cycle. Taking innovative concepts and making them real and practical is your strong suit; getting stuck in the mud is to be avoided at all costs. Financial savvy, inventiveness, worldly genius.
Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver’s seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is Maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?
Pluto in Aquarius Reform, revolution, a rejection of the past and a focus on the future: these are the signatures of the new phase now beginning in your life. Tradition becomes irrelevant, and the conventional wisdom is revealed as dogma or outright nonsense – and what’s the difference, really? Radical changes in all things social and intellectual.

The LAST QUARTER MOON occurs on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, at 7:27 AM EDT.
On Wednesday morning, the Sun in Taurus forms a square with the Moon in Aquarius. This Last Quarter Moon phase points to a small crisis of consciousness. After basking in the awareness symbolized by the full light of the Moon at the time of last week’s Full Moon, we arrive at a point where we need to sort out what works for us–and what doesn’t–in preparation for next week’s New Moon, when something new is born once again.
This is not the best time to start a major project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes a descent into unconsciousness. It’s time to begin finishing up the details of that which was conceived at the last New Moon. It’s a time to consider our revelations, what they mean to us, and what can be done.
The chart:
This phase of the Moon occurs at 11 degrees and 35 minutes of Aquarius square the Sun at the same degree of Taurus, and affecting people with personal planets and points at 10 to 14 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) most significantly.

This week: The Sun is in Taurus; Mercury is in Aries; Venus is in Aries until the 29th, when it enters Taurus; Mars is in Pisces until the 30th, when it enters Aries.
Venus is in Taurus from April 29-May 23. In Taurus, Venus is naturally very sensual, content, and possessive. We seek security and value those things that are long-lasting. Our appetite for pleasure is strong.
The sign of Taurus values the here and now and the world of the five senses. Tangible and physical expressions of love and romance figure strongly during the Venus-in-Taurus cycle. Holding on to someone or something we love is our tendency under this influence.
The shadow side of this is excessive possessiveness and treating our partners as objects that we own or want to own.
On the financial side, Venus in Taurus looks for high-quality, solid, practical, and long-lasting items. Holding on to our possessions is more likely now. With art, tastes, and pleasures, we prefer things that are earthy, natural, and grounded. We can be somewhat indulgent at this time. Uncertainty bothers us more than usual–we favor stability over excitement in love and pleasure.
Mars is in Aries from April 30-June 9. Mars feels at home in Aries, one of the signs that it rules, and therefore its power is boosted. Our energy is spontaneous, forward-looking, and even courageous under this influence. Our competitive spirit is well-developed, and our goal is to win! We are active, single-minded, and confident.
Our actions are direct–we instinctively find the fastest way to get from point A to point B. The shadow side of Mars in Aries is a tendency to be impatient, arrogant, impulsive, short-lived, unreflective, and self-centered.
We pursue our goals straightforwardly, confidently, unabashedly, and directly with Mars in Aries. The same goes for expressing anger. We want to be first, come first, and do things on our own–our independence, enterprise, and initiative are well-developed.
This transit is better for endeavors that require courage and strong but not necessarily sustained passion and energy. We don’t want to look back or overthink–we only concern ourselves with what we can accomplish right now. Not inclined to beat around the bush, we confidently pursue our desires.
Aries prefers to seduce rather than be seduced, to chase rather than be chased.
Venus is in Taurus from April 29-May 23. In Taurus, Venus is usually quite content, but can be possessive. We seek security and value that which lasts. Our appetite for pleasure is strong. Taurus values the here and the now as well as the world of the five senses. Tangible and physical expressions of love and romance are most important now. Holding on to someone we love is our tendency under Venus in Taurus. The shadow side of this is excessive possessiveness and treating our partners as objects that we own or want to own.
This week: On Tuesday, we’re
Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:
Venus in Aries Romance at the drop of a hat is part and parcel of the cycle you have just begun. Winning the hearts of others can be a challenge you’re eager to accept – and the thrill of the chase might be most of the fun. Is it the pursuit of happiness – or the happiness of pursuit?
Venus in Taurus A love of music, an appreciation for sensual pleasures and others of the finer things in life – such are the signs of the cycle which has begun for you. This is aesthetic and artistic to be sure, but it is also practical and materialistic: you develop a keen appreciation for the value of things, including the money it takes to buy them.
Void-of-course Moon on Sunday, April 28th, from 3:31 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Neptune), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 5:38 AM EDT.
VOC Moon on Tuesday, April 30th, from 11:19 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Mars), until the Moon enters Aquarius at 11:20 AM EDT — an extremely brief VOC period!
VOC Moon on Thursday, May 2nd, from 5:28 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Pisces at 2:52 PM EDT.
VOC Moon on Saturday, May 4th, from 3:06 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Neptune), until the Moon enters Aries at 4:41 PM EDT.

The Moon is waning this week, which is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, with exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details).
According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs on

This Week’s Calendar
This Week’s Aspects
Mars conjunct Neptune. Our impulses and desires may be confusing, peculiar, hard to explain, or difficult to understand now. Not content with our regular routines, we tend to crave more drama, glamour, or meaning now. Concentration on practical concerns and affairs may be lacking. We act on our intuition now, sexual fantasies are strong, we strive towards all that is boundless, and our creative impulses are potent. We are less tense and driven, and more relaxed. “What will be, will be” is the attitude now. Inspiration can be found now. This transit favors dancing, swimming, photography, arts, and entertainment.
Venus semi-square Saturn. There may be difficulties relating to others under this influence. People may be cool with their affections and emotionally distant. Avoid new financial undertakings, as they may prove to be “money pits” as time passes. There may be anxiety or troubles with respect to matters concerned with the feelings. Romantic disappointments, unrequited love, separations, and broken engagements are the more difficult manifestations. We tend to lack social confidence at this time and adopt a shy, formal, or reserved social manner. It’s better to use this transit for reflection.
Venus square Pluto. Intense passions are stirring, but there’s a hidden agenda. Feelings of jealousy and possessiveness run high, in direct proportion to fear of losing someone or something. It’s not an ideal time to begin a new relationship, because it can be characterized by these energies. Social interactions may be intense or could provoke intense feelings. Changes in financial or relationship status could occur now. Resentments and issues that have been brewing in a close relationship come to the surface, disrupting the peace. All of our relationships intensify, and people can be more compulsive and demanding. This is an “all or nothing” energy. Manipulative behavior, fear of betrayal, and power struggles are possible.
Mars sextile Pluto. We are able to successfully focus on our goals, to take decisive action, and to go after what we want without stepping on others’ toes under this influence.
Sun semi-square Neptune. Our willpower is low as we stray from our goals and temporarily lose focus. It’s difficult to formulate — or stick to — clear goals during this transit. Concentrating on artistic or spiritual pursuits is better than focusing on matters that require straightforward, factual thinking today. It can be difficult knowing where or how to direct our willpower under this influence. It’s also a challenge knowing where we stand with others. Avoid such things as scheduling surgery, important appointments, job interviews, or launches of new projects at this time.

APRIL 28
Today’s Sun-Vesta sextile encourages us to dedicate ourselves to a special project or cause. As well, the Moon’s move into Capricorn at 5:38 AM EDT brings our responsibilities to mind. However, we approach an imaginative alignment of Mars and Neptune that perfects very early into tomorrow–a transit that occurs approximately every two years. With Mars conjunct Neptune in Pisces, we’re seeking inspiration. At the same time, concentrating on practical concerns and affairs may be challenging. We act on our intuition, our fantasies are intense and in the foreground, and our creative impulses are potent. Either we consciously pull back, or our energy levels lag temporarily under this influence. There is a strong need to release pressure and tension. We may actively seek situations that inspire us or aim to put our fantasies into motion. Creative pursuits that involve physical movement are highly favored and could provide excellent outlets for excess, undirected energy. This Mars-Neptune influence favors dancing, swimming, acting, magic, photography, arts, and entertainment. There can be much energy building inside us, but we may still need to figure out where we want it to take us or, if we do, how to get there!
The Moon is void from 3:31 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Neptune), until the Moon enters Capricorn at 5:38 AM EDT.
APRIL 29
Venus enters Taurus today and performs well in the sign. Venus will transit Taurus until May 23rd and is comfortable, sensual, content, and perhaps possessive. We seek security more than usual during this cycle and place more value on things that last. In fact, Venus in Taurus improves and enhances our judgment of value and worth. Our appetite for pleasure is strong in the weeks ahead. Uncertainty bothers us more than usual–we favor stability over excitement in love and joy. The Moon spends the day in responsible, prudent Capricorn, and we crave results, preferring to see the reality of a situation. We pay special attention to our responsibilities and the structures in our lives.
APRIL 30
The Moon is void from 11:19 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Mars), until the Moon enters Aquarius at 11:20 AM EDT — an extremely brief VOC period!
MAY 1
MAY 2
The Moon is void from 5:28 AM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a square to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Pisces at 2:52 PM EDT.
MAY 3
MAY 4
The Moon is void from 3:06 PM EDT, with the Moon’s last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Neptune), until the Moon enters Aries at 4:41 PM EDT.

Moon Signs This Week:
When the Moon is in Capricorn
We become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.
The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.
When the Moon is in Aquarius
Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.
The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.
When the Moon is in Pisces
We may not want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.
The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.
When the Moon is in Aries
We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to begin something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.
People can be more self-motivated and also self-focused while the Moon is in Aries. It's a competitive rather than cooperative time. Accidents and tempers flaring are more likely than usual. This period is one of more personal courage.
The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.
Mars in Aries Fresh challenges and initiatives light your fires now, as a new cycle begins in your life – lots of energy, a powerful urge to be first or come out on top. Away with the old and on to the new – let no one and nothing stand between you and your objective! Headstrong impulses and rash courage can take you far … sometimes in harm’s way, if you’re not careful.
