On
Tuesday evening, the Moon is full, as the earthy Taurus Moon
opposes the watery Scorpio Sun.
The Taurus-Scorpio polarity emphasizes the concept of form
(Taurus) versus transformation (Scorpio). While Taurus deals with
matter, personal values, material goods, possessions, and
security, Scorpio-8th house rules the destruction of form, shared
possessions, change, and transformation. The Moon in Taurus wants
us to be happy with the simple, tangible things in life, while the
Scorpio Sun draws our attention to complexities, intangibles, and
mysteries. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire
on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two

As the planet of communication, Mercury retrograde tends to breed a certain
level of confusion. Mercury rules our "lower" mind--how we
perceive and interpret information that we receive from our environment, and how
we relay that information to others. Mercury has rulership over such things as
speaking, negotiating, buying and selling, listening, formal contracts,
documents, travel, the mail and shipping, and so forth. All of these areas of
life are affected when Mercury is functioning in a sluggish state.
Decision-making is challenged during Mercury retrograde. Needless to say, it is
not advised to sign contracts, engage in important decision-making, or launch a
new business during this period. Delays and challenges are more probable with Mercury retrograde.
This cycle is best used for re-organizing and reflecting.
For the next few weeks, it's best to check and double-check your
work, emails, and paperwork. Watch what you say, because it may
not come out, or be received, the way you intended. Try to be
understanding if you receive remarks that don't go over well.

When Mars is in its retrograde cycle, we are forced
to re-assess our current projects, our approach to getting what we want, and our
desire nature. In Taurus, the sign of the bull, we should become more pensive
and deliberate, taking our time to reach our goals. If we push ahead impulsively
anyhow, we run into problems, obstacles, and frustrations. The bull-headedness
associated with the sign is emphasized. Taurus rules finances, and we need to
re-assess our approach to both earning and spending money. Circumstances are
likely to be such that we feel forced to do so. Impulsive spending during this
period is likely to have consequences. We are apt to feel some frustration with
regards to the development and acquisition of our assets.
Mars turned retrograde at a time when it was part of
a yod configuration with Jupiter and Pluto, and when Venus opposed it almost
exactly. With Venus opposite Mars and Mars inconjunct both Jupiter and Pluto,
the configuration formed is a little more complex. This is a powerful configuration,
and those people with personal planets found at any of its points (perhaps
especially 23 Taurus and 23 Scorpio) are bound to find the beginning of October
especially busy and perhaps crisis-oriented. Health issues may be a factor
(especially in areas ruled by Taurus and Scorpio--the throat and sexual organs),
and accidents a possibility. Avoid pushing matters or throwing yourself into
something new.
Romance & Relationships
Venus is in earthy
and practical Capricorn--a period of time when security and stability in our
relationships is paramount. We are more cautious with our emotions, and somewhat
skeptical of both our own feelings and others' expressions of affection. There
is a formality to Capricorn that can make personal expressions seem awkward and
forced. However, this cycle offers us the opportunity to consider some of the
practical issues of our relations and to work on making our partnerships work
in the real world. A dose of realism in our personal lives can help us to feel
more grounded and secure in the long run.
Confusing signals occur this week on the romance front. A trine between Venus
and Mars generally makes for good, satisfying relations, simply because we can
act on our social and romantic urges successfully. However, Saturn, which is
approaching retrograde motion, is in the picture as well, and forms tense
aspects to both Venus and Mars. These configurations emphasize the more strict,
self-protective, and emotionally distant energy of Capricorn.
