A FULL MOON occurs on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at 10:20 PM EDT.

On Wednesday night, a Full Moon occurs with the Cancer Sun in opposition to the Moon in Capricorn. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time—a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.

The Cancer-Capricorn polarity concerns the balance between the private life, domesticity, the need for a home base, and nurturance (represented by Cancer) versus the public life, career, reputation, and accountability (represented by Capricorn). Attachments and love are ruled by Cancer, while achievements and rewards/punishments are ruled by Capricorn. In some ways, this polarity deals with the balance between unconditional love and conditional love. Cancer encourages us to value our home base and our roots, while Capricorn persuades us to consider our sense of duty and responsibility along public or professional lines. While Cancer may be content to be dependent, Capricorn urges us to be grown-up and responsible. Cancer represents the origin, and Capricorn represents the goal. Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about balancing our commitment to our career and families. Something has been building inside of us, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out. Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this means for us. For now, we can't sit on our feelings. We need to express them.

The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between roots and direction. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic "illumination" occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as there is a sense of emotions bursting forth into our consciousness. It's time to express ourselves, and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is fresh, unrefined, and not particularly rational as yet.

The Sun is separating from a conjunction with Mars, the Moon is applying to a conjunction with Pluto, and Neptune forms a close trine/sextile to this lunation.

This phase of the Moon occurs at 2 degrees and 38 minutes of Libra square the Sun at 2 degrees and 38 minutes of Cancer, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 0 to 5 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

(Times are Eastern)

The Sun is in Cancer; Mercury is in Gemini; Venus is in Leo; Mars is in Cancer.

The Sun is in Cancer from June 21-July 22. We are self-protective and insular under this influence. Our attention turns to our nest--our families, homes, and anything that makes us feel "at home", safe, and secure. Nurturing and taking care of our loved ones and our pet projects comes into focus. Emotions run deep. We are more susceptible to the ups and downs of the Moon while the Sun is in Cancer.

Mercury is in Gemini from April 30-July 8 (longer than usual due to Mercury's retrograde in Gemini from May 18-June 11). When Mercury is in Gemini, we are especially communicative, curious, and sociable. Mercury feels right at home in Gemini, one of the signs that it rules. We tend to take more pleasure in gaining a superficial knowledge of many subjects rather than dig deep into any one topic. We are especially astute when it comes to arguing or making a point. We are attracted to wordplays, puns, and negotiations. We are easily distracted.

Venus is in Leo from June 5-July 18. We take pride in love, and we are generous with our money as well while Venus is in Leo. This is a warmhearted, teasing, expressive, proud, and extravagant placement for Venus. Love is a bit of a game--a game that is perpetual, as Venus in Leo may be forever stuck in the romance stage of a relationship. We feed on attention, acknowledgement, validation, and adoration. Venus in Leo loves to be adored, pampered, and admired. We have a strong ego investment in our love lives during this period. The negative expression of this placement is overstating our feelings simply for the effect, as well as extravagance.

Mars in Cancer from June 24-August 8. We pursue our interests ardently, but we avoid a direct approach to going after we want. As well, our goals and plans are subject to mood swings and vacillations. We are defensive rather than overtly aggressive. Much of what we do depends on our mood of the moment.

Saturn transits Sagittarius from December 23, 2014, to June 14, 2015, and then from September 17, 2015 to December 20, 2017. Saturn re-enters Scorpio on June 14 and continues to transit Scorpio until September 17, 2015. Read about Saturn's transit through Sagittarius here. Read about Saturn's transit through Scorpio here.

Jupiter entered Leo on July 16th, where it will transit until August 11th, 2015. Read about Jupiter's transit through Leo here. Jupiter will transit Virgo from August 11, 2015 to September 9, 2016.

Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.

Romance & Relationships

Venus is in Leo from June 5-July 18 (later, July 31-October 8). Venus enters its pre-retrograde shadow on June 21st, will be retrograde from July 25th to September 6th, and will move through its post-retrograde shadow until October 9th. Romance becomes an end in itself during this cycle. It marks a time when love, creativity, and self-expression satisfy a deep yearning to be appreciated and admired - needed, even. A flashy, flirty, stylish splash of color and warmth characterizes this cycle. Love is magnificent and grand! We take pride in love, and we are generous with our money as well. This is a warmhearted, teasing, expressive, proud, and extravagant placement for Venus. Love is a bit of a game--a game that is perpetual, as Venus in Leo is forever stuck in the romance stage of a relationship. We feed on attention, acknowledgement, validation, and adoration. Venus in Leo loves to be adored, pampered, and admired. Pride and passion are hallmarks of this cycle. We have a strong ego investment in our love lives during this period. The negative expression of this placement is overstating our feelings simply for the effect, as well as extravagance.

This week: A trine between Venus and Uranus on Sunday-Monday is a wonderful aspect for liberating ourselves from restrictive ways of relating. Venus is also parallel Jupiter, expanding our affections, opening our hearts, and encouraging generosity. A quincunx between Venus and Chiron can point to some discontent and insecurity, but a Venus-Jupiter alignment on Tuesday-Wednesday in the generous sign of Leo encourages good faith, cooperation, and big heartedness.

Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:

Venus in Leo June 5-July 18. Romance becomes an end in itself as a new cycle begins for you. It marks a time when love, creativity, and self-expression satisfy a deep yearning to be appreciated and admired - needed, even. A flashy, flirty, stylish splash of color and warmth.
Venus quincunx Pluto June 21. This is a time of adjustments and re-assessments in our close personal relationships and/or with regards to our social lives. Issues of power and control can arise. Unreasonable or irrational fears of loss, or jealousy, could also emerge.
Venus trine Uranus June 28-29. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, and we happily embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit.
Venus parallel Jupiter June 28-30. We are charitable with others and have a stronger desire than usual to find meaning in our relationships. There may be some overstating or overindulgence now, however.
Venus quincunx Chiron June 30. There may be vague feelings of discontent in relationships; or a choice that needs to be made regarding personal relationships, money, or possessions. Insecurity involving others might make it awkward for us to express our affections naturally or flowingly.
Venus conjunct Jupiter June 30-July 1. We have large appetites for love and pleasure, and generosity of spirit as well. An excellent time (all things considered) to begin a new relationship, or renew an old/existing one.
Venus sextile Mercury July 4-5. Favors playfulness in love and enhanced communication between partners. Romantic overtures, expressions of love and affection, making new social contacts. This is a time when promises, pledges, and clarifications (usually very positive!) are made in love relationships.

The Moon & Timing

The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here, and is indicative of the "outcome" of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period, or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology). Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology.

The Void-of-Course Moon this Week:

Void-of-course Moon on Sunday, June 28th, from 9:52 PM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Saturn), until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 11:23 PM EDT.

VOC Moon on Tuesday, June 30th, from 2:19 PM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Capricorn the next day, Wednesday, July 1st, at 5:12 AM EDT.

VOC Moon on Friday, July 3rd, from 6:39 AM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Saturn), until the Moon enters Aquarius at 8:22 AM EDT.

Timing with the Moon - Better Periods this Week for Electing New Initiatives

The Moon is waxing this week until the Full Moon on the 1st - a period that is generally considered favorable for new beginnings, with exceptions. (See Best Time to Start a Business for more details). The Moon is waning this week after the Full Moon on the 1st - a period that is generally considered unfavorable for new beginnings, with exceptions.

According to principles of timing with the Moon, a window of opportunity occurs on Tuesday, June 30th, from approximately 7:20 AM to 2:15 PM EDT, while the Moon is in Sagittarius. This is a very nice window with Venus and Jupiter approaching a conjunction as well. Another window occurs from Thursday July 2nd, at approximately 5 PM EDT, until Friday, July 3rd, at approximately 6:35 AM EDT, while the Moon is in Capricorn.

This Week's Calendar

This Week's Aspects

MercuryquincunxPluto Mercury quincunx Pluto. Something we write or say could trigger power struggles or hostility from others. We may be plagued with self-doubt in our attempts to make decisions. Decisions made now are unlikely to be objective. Re-assessing decisions we have made already, or adjusting our plans, may be in order. Second-guessing.

VenustrineUranus Venus trine Uranus. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, and we happily embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to romantic involvements as well as financial undertakings. We are ready to experiment, but not ready to commit. Creative inspiration can be had. We have an offbeat, pleasant attitude and people are more willing to socialize. A good time for financial undertakings involving electronics, technology, the internet, metaphysics, and the arts, as well as group activities.

JupiterQuincunx Jupiter quincunx Chiron. There can be a questioning of our goals, or possibly our beliefs and faith, as doubt and uncertainty are likely now. We may feel a little lost and susceptible to influence. If we are not self-aware, we might push impractical ideas and projects ahead, only to face obstacles. Circumstances are such that we need to make adjustments to our plans and goals. We may need to tame expectations of ourselves and of others if they are unreasonably high.

VenusChiron Venus quincunx Chiron. There may be vague feelings of discontent in relationships; or a choice that needs to be made regarding personal relationships, money, or possessions. Insecurity involving others might make it awkward for us to express our affections naturally or flowingly.

VenusconjunctJupiter Venus conjunct Jupiter. A potentially magical transit when we are especially generous and giving, optimistic, and kind towards others. We might also be quite indulgent under this influence. We might be tempted to overspend or overstate our feelings now. We are sociable, fun-loving, and desirous of sharing our happiness with others. We have large appetites for love and pleasure, and generosity of spirit as well. This can be an excellent influence for beginning a new relationship or financial undertaking, or for renewing and refreshing existing ties with others.

SuntrineNeptune Sun trine Neptune. We're at the right place at the right time, probably because our hunches are more likely to be correct and we are "tuned in". We are inspired, and charitable acts now will serve to lift our spirits like no drug can. A good time for self-improvement programs or efforts. Instinctual judgment is enhanced under this influence. We are able to see matters, and people, from a different perspective--one that allows for, and even finds beauty in, differences.

MercurysextileUranus Mercury sextile Uranus. This is an opportune time to attend meetings and other organized group activities, to communicate online, and to take part in activities involving computers, scientific projects, and metaphysics. Unexpected gains may be realized through such mediums. The intuition is strong, and insights seem to come from "out of the blue". Original, creative ideas are easy to come by. We can take advantage of our ability to see things in a new light by breathing life into old projects or solving problems in new, creative ways. Varying our usual routine may be especially rewarding.

MercurysquareChiron Mercury square Chiron. Communications may be strained, and possibly hurtful or perceived as such. Misunderstandings are more likely now. Decisions may also be hard to come by, as we tend to doubt ourselves or the effectiveness of our ability to solve problems. It can be hard to read the intention behind the words used to communicate now.

MercurySextileJupiter Mercury sextile Jupiter. Positive thinking, new insights, and cooperation are themes now. This influence favors short trips, writing, teaching, studying, submitting applications and forms, test taking, and making diagnoses and observations. This is a time when we more readily exercise good judgment, take a more philosophical approach to thinking, and are more open to learning.

What's In Store By the Stars - Daily Astrology Trends

(as featured on our site's main page and in our Daily Trends Calendar)

JUNE 28
The Moon is in Scorpio most of the day, until 11:23 PM EDT, when it enters Sagittarius. Early today, a Mercury-Pluto quincunx can point to frustrating misunderstandings. Re-assessing or second-guessing decisions we have already made is possible now. The Moon aligns with Saturn later today, reminding us of our responsibilities, but with a Venus-Uranus trine approaching (exact early into the day tomorrow), we are likely to feel especially open to new ways of relating to others, as well as to new or unusual things and experiences. We have an offbeat, pleasant attitude and people are more willing to socialize. There is just enough detachment felt right now that we are freer and possibly a little daring.

A void of course Moon occurs from 9:52 PM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Saturn), until the Moon enters Sagittarius at 11:23 PM EDT.

JUNE 29
The Moon is in Sagittarius all day. Emotionally bored with the mundane, anything that breaks the routine is appealing now, and a change of scenery might help. We take a philosophical attitude to problems or challenges in our lives. Early into the day, a Venus-Uranus trine comes exact. We lose our fear of taking risks at this time, and we happily embrace all that is new, unusual, and out-of-the-ordinary with regards to pleasure, entertainment, tastes, romantic involvements, and financial or business undertakings. We are ready to experiment, but not necessarily ready to commit. The Moon's square to Neptune late afternoon (Eastern time) may be a little disorienting as we look for ways to satisfy our more spiritual or imaginative needs.

JUNE 30
Again today, the Moon is in Sagittarius all day, encouraging a more spontaneous and spirited approach to the world. Venus is approaching a conjunction with Sagittarian ruler, Jupiter, exact early tomorrow. This is a generous and charitable aspect that can have the effect of opening our hearts (and possibly wallets). However, first, both Jupiter and Venus form a quincunx with Chiron. There can be a questioning of our goals, or possibly our beliefs and faith, as doubt and uncertainty are possible. Insecurity involving others might make it awkward for us to express our affections naturally or flowingly.

A void of course Moon occurs from 2:19 PM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a trine to Jupiter), until the Moon enters Capricorn the next day, Wednesday, July 1st, at 5:12 AM EDT.

JULY 1
Early into the day, Venus aligns with Jupiter in Leo. We are especially generous and giving, optimistic, and kind towards others during this transit, and can also be quite indulgent. We might be tempted to overspend or overstate our feelings now. We are sociable, fun-loving, and desirous of sharing our happiness with others. We have large appetites for love and pleasure, and generosity of spirit as well. The Moon leaves Sagittarius and enters Capricorn at 5:12 AM EDT. The Sun forms a trine with Neptune this afternoon, and we can feel especially "tuned in". We are inspired, and charitable acts now will serve to lift our spirits. We are able to see matters, and people, from a different perspective--one that allows for, and even finds beauty in, differences. Tonight, a Full Moon occurs with the Cancer Sun in opposition with the Moon in Capricorn. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. This one is about balancing our commitment to our career and families, and illuminates the conflict between roots and direction. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic "illumination" occurs in our own lives.

The Moon ends its void period at 5:12 AM EDT, when it enters Capricorn.

JULY 2
The Moon is in Capricorn all day, and we might express our feelings reservedly or sparingly. Our sense of responsibility is stronger than usual, and we aim for efficiency in many areas of life now. A sextile between Mercury and Uranus today encourages alternative approaches and new ideas, as well as technical thinking. The intuition is strong, and insights seem to come from "out of the blue". Original, creative ideas are easy to come by. We can take advantage of our ability to see things in a new light by breathing life into old projects or solving problems in new, creative ways. Varying our usual routine may be especially rewarding.

JULY 3
The Moon continues its transit of Capricorn until 6:39 AM EDT, when it enters Aquarius. A square between Mercury and Chiron today can point to insecurity or strained, unnatural communications, as well as a time when we can be a little more sensitive to criticism. We may doubt ourselves when it comes to solving problems or learning and expressing ourselves. However, as the day advances, positive thinking is stimulated, with Mercury and Jupiter forming a sextile tonight, encouraging cooperation, big ideas, good judgment, and openness to learning from one another.

A void of course Moon occurs from 6:39 AM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Saturn), until the Moon enters Aquarius at 8:22 AM EDT.

JULY 4
The Moon is in Aquarius all day, inspiring our more humanitarian, progressive traits. We thrive on intellectual stimulation, change, and unusual or unconventional experiences. Independence, equality, and freedom are vital to feeling emotionally satisfied with this position of the Moon. The Moon's opposition to Jupiter tonight suggests some inclination to over-indulgence but also a desire to enjoy ourselves. Mercury and Venus are moving towards a sextile aspect, and we can be especially sociable, diplomatic, and tolerant of differences.

Moon Signs This Week:

When the Moon is in Scorpio

MoonScorpioIntensity is what the Moon in Scorpio is all about. Whether it's passion, elation, sorrow, or desire, emotions are felt on a deeply personal level. We are motivated by the desire to get to the bottom of things, and we instinctively read between the lines. Superficiality won't work for us now. The Moon in Scorpio urges us to uncover our own power, and it's an excellent time to rid ourselves of old fears and limiting habits. It can be an intimate and passionate time. Avoid manipulative tactics, brooding, and suspiciousness.

The Moon in Scorpio generally favors the following activities: Taxes, accounting, intimacy issues, psychological examinations, research, self-examination, getting rid of old things.

When the Moon is in Sagittarius

MoonSagittariusThe Moon is at her most optimistic and upbeat in Sagittarius. We are motivated by a need to seek the truth, and we are ready to pursue a new vision. We are not interested in details just now. Instead, we focus on the big picture. New experiences and adventures satisfy a deep emotional need. Spontaneity is the key. We may also be inclined toward overdoing and overstating. We don't want to plan ahead, and prefer to "wing it".

The Moon in Sagittarius generally favors the following activities: Adventurous activities that involve "winging it", travel, higher education, starting publishing projects, advertising, sports, physical activity.

When the Moon is in Capricorn

MoonCapricornrWe become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.

The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.

When the Moon is in Aquarius

MoonAquarius Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.

This Week's Planetary Positions By Sign (General Trends):

Sun in Cancer Being more in touch with your emotional roots is a keynote of the cycle that now takes hold in your life. This has to do with feelings, but it's more than that: it's about making the things you feel and care about a reality. At some levels, this means a greater focus on family life - parents, children, relatives, the whole domestic scene. On a somewhat broader scale, you're likely to find that houses and other real property take on greater significance for you. Nurturing is where it's at in your life now: making things grow and taking care of them, planting seeds that will develop and survive far into the future - that's what it's all about.

Mercury in Gemini A walking encyclopedia, a yen to know a little bit about everything (and everyone): these are the icons of the cycle you have just begun. Talking, writing, keeping a finger on the pulse of all that's happening ... this is a time of study and learning, a cycle of mental challenge, curiosity, and social/intellectual growth. Such things are an end in themselves rather than a means to any other end.

Venus in Leo Romance becomes an end in itself as a new cycle begins for you. It marks a time when love, creativity, and self-expression satisfy a deep yearning to be appreciated and admired - needed, even. A flashy, flirty, stylish splash of color and warmth.

Mars in Cancer Defensive, aren't we? With this new cycle getting underway, protecting and preserving you and yours takes on a higher than usual priority. A sensitivity to the needs and wants of others and an appreciation for their frailties (as well as your own) makes you more cautious and conservative ... you pick your battles with care.

Jupiter in Leo High drama, big romance, a creative bonanza: this is the stuff dreams are made of now. The world is your stage, the spotlight is your goal, and the love and appreciation of others is the air you breathe. Children, lovers, admirers: these are the people who figure large in your life as this cycle progresses. A willingness to gamble on the future.

Saturn in Sagittarius The new phase now beginning in your life brings a need to break out of narrow concepts and legalistic philosophical or religious ideas. Remember: "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds." Opportunities to broaden your mental horizons may not come with ease, but they are essential if you are to avoid a kind of spiritual stagnation.

Saturn in Scorpio This new cycle signals a need to recognize that there are powers beyond your control, that things are not what they seem on the surface. Trying to stay in control and on top only sets you up for a fall. There is a need for the resources of others. Failure to recognize this and deal with it can stop you in your tracks.

Uranus in Aries
A clean break with the past in some respects is signaled by the cycle you have just begun. What YOU need, YOUR freedom and independence, shattering old molds: these are the things that energize you and take priority in your life. Uniqueness and originality set you apart.

Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver's seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?

Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable - and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small, but has bigger consequences than you'd think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place...
