A NEW Moon Solar Eclipse occurs on Friday, March 20, 2015, at 5:36 AM EDT.

On Friday morning, an especially potent New Moon occurs in late Pisces (the last degree of Pisces AND of the zodiac) - potent because it's a Solar Eclipse. Because this solar eclipse occurs in the sign of Pisces, imagination, service, dreams, ideals, and compassion will be in focus. This eclipse is about new beginnings when it comes to taking a leap of faith, our beliefs, the acceptance of imperfections, imagination and intuition, selfless service, and dreams.

This is a time when we should build our powers of acceptance, belief, and compassion; take a leap of faith--believe in something higher; start a creative, imaginative project; practice putting ourselves in others' shoes, and let some things go (such as judgments, annoyances, and the like); revitalize ourselves through experiences that require imagination, compassion, or that simply represent a "break" from the routine; give ourselves selflessly through compassionate service; and to share a dream with others. For some of us, circumstances are such that we need to pay more attention to our spirituality.

We may find ourselves completely re-working the area of life ruled by Pisces in our charts. It's a time to take special note of our dreams, as well as insights or thoughts/emotions that seem to come from "out of the blue". These could be creatively inspiring. The range of emotions that Pisces registers is extraordinary, and this could be a time when we feel that enormous range. With Pisces' opposite sign, Virgo, we are acutely aware of imperfections. We see the flaws around us and perhaps become very tense and irritable, or we work hard at fixing them. To Pisces, however, imperfection is beautiful. With the health and service axis (Pisces-Virgo) involved, health or work issues may come to the fore. As well, the ability to set boundaries when it comes to the services we render can become a major issue. Situations that test our faith, or magnify our fears and doubts, may be part of the picture. For some, a new "calling" will surface in the coming six months. A new line of work that better matches our inner nature, desire to serve, or emotional make-up may unfold in the months following this eclipse. We may discover that we need more rest and relaxation or attention to our spiritual nature than we are currently allowing ourselves.

Major developments in the personal areas ruled by Pisces are likely to occur over the course of the next 3-6 months. However, not everyone will feel the effect of the eclipse with the same intensity. Those whose personal planets are activated by the degree of the eclipse will feel its effects on a personal level. To personalize the meaning of this eclipse in your life, see Solar Eclipse in Pisces.

This phase of the Moon occurs at 29 degrees and 27 minutes of Pisces conjunct the Sun at 29 degrees and 27 minutes of Pisces, affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 24 to 30 degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) and 0 to 4 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) most significantly.

(Times are Eastern)

The Sun is in Pisces until March 20th, when it enters Aries; Mercury is in Pisces; Venus is in Aries until the 17th, when it enters Taurus; Mars is in Aries.

The Sun is in Pisces from February 18-March 20. With the Sun in Pisces, we are guided by altruistic feelings. We are less active, and more motivated by our instincts. A "what will be, will be" attitude reigns, and we are guided by a sense of universal correlations. Pisces rules empathy, selfless love, devotion, and wisdom. Its shadow side rules self-pity, a feeling of being victimized by life, passivity, and elusiveness.

The Sun is in Aries from March 20-April 20. In Aries, the Sun is enthusiastic and spontaneous. We are motivated by the desire to conquer. We are more impulsive, and have the urge to initiate. Aries is a sign that bounces back quickly--there is little shame with Aries. It is brave and pioneering, and somewhat innocent. We are direct and rather uncomplicated in our needs, but we can also be short-sighted and lack the desire to plan ahead.

Mercury is in Pisces from March 12-30. When Mercury is in Pisces, our thinking processes are more visual, intuitive, and imaginative. We are espeically attuned to the world of emotion, and it colors both our thoughts and our communication style. We guess well, express ourselves with imagery, and make decisions intuitively. We are more attracted to consciousness-raising information.

Venus is in Aries February 20-March 17. In Aries, love is spontaneous and direct. The chase is very exciting to us under this fiery influence. We are bold, fresh, and a little impatient when it comes to matters of the heart. We don't look back with Aries energy. We are not interested in saying sorry or dwelling on the past. It's a brand new day! It's time to make things work right now. Aries is known for a love of the chase and the conquest, but Aries love can be longstanding as long as it remains relatively fresh. Aries is blunt--there's no sugar-coating with Aries. This can sting, but rarely is Aries energy mean or petty. Saying it like it is is important to Aries. Desires are strong and expressed spontaneously, enthusiastically, and directly. Aries prefers to seduce rather than be seduced, to chase rather than be chased.

Venus is in Taurus March 17-April 11. In Taurus, Venus is very sensual (naturally), content, and possessive. We seek security and value that which lasts. Our appetite for pleasure is strong. Taurus values the here and the now as well as the world of the five senses. Tangible and physical expressions of love and romance are most important now. Holding on to someone we love is our tendency under Venus in Taurus. The shadow side of this is excessive possessiveness and treating our partners as objects that we own or want to own. On the financial side, Venus in Taurus looks for high-quality, solid, practical, and long-lasting items. Holding on to our possessions is more likely now.

Mars is in Aries February 19-March 31. Mars feels at home in one of the signs that it rules, Aries, and therefore its power is boosted. Our energy is spontaneous, forward-looking, and even courageous under this influence. Our competitive spirit is well-developed, and our goal is to win! We are active, single-minded, and confident. Our actions are direct--we instinctively find the fastest way to get from point A to point B. The shadow side of Mars in Aries is a tendency to be impatient, arrogant, impulsive, short-lived, unreflecting, and self-centered.

Saturn transits Sagittarius from December 23, 2014, to June 14, 2015, and then from September 17, 2015 to December 20, 2017. Read about Saturn's transit through Sagittarius here.

Jupiter entered Leo on July 16th, where it will transit until August 11th, 2015. Read about Jupiter's transit through Leo here. Jupiter will transit Virgo from August 11, 2015 to September 9, 2016.

Uranus entered Aries on March 11th, 2011. The urge to start fresh, to break free from restrictive attitudes or circumstances, to totally redesign an area of our lives (or even our personalities), and to gain freedom through independence is strong with Uranus in Aries.

Romance & Relationships

Venus is in Aries from February 20-March 17.

Venus is in Taurus from March 17-April 11. In Taurus, Venus is usually quite content, but can be possessive. We seek security and we value those things that last. Our appetite for pleasure is strong during this cycle. Taurus values the here and the now as well as the world of the five senses. Tangible and physical expressions of love and romance are most important now. Holding on to someone we love is our tendency under Venus in Taurus. The shadow side of this is excessive possessiveness and treating our partners as objects that we own (or want to own).

This week: Thursday through Saturday, some awkward energy is with us that may stimulate a need to review our attachments or feelings. We might decide to make adjustments in order to better fill our needs for structure and stability in our relationships.

Venus, the Goddess of Love: Highlights in the Coming Week:

Venus in Aries February 20-March 17. Romance at the drop of a hat is part and parcel of the cycle you have just begun. Winning the hearts of others can be a challenge you're eager to accept - and the thrill of the chase might be most of the fun. Is it the pursuit of happiness - or the happiness of pursuit?
Venus in Taurus March 17-April 11. A love of music, an appreciation for sensual pleasures and others of the finer things in life - such are the signs of the cycle which has begun for you. This is aesthetic and artistic to be sure, but it is also practical and materialistic: you develop a keen appreciation for the value of things, including the money it takes to buy them.
Venus semi-square Neptune March 10-11. Romantic confusion as well as relationship ups and downs. Self-deceptions may come to light now.
Venus semi-square Chiron March 19. Love cannot be forced. This is not a commitment-friendly transit, as we may feel alienated for no apparent reason and unwilling to give of ourselves.
Venus quincunx Saturn March 20-21. A feeling that we may not be able to express our affections, or that our affections will not be received well, can undermine us in our relationships. Fear of rejection, emotional distancing, and over-sensitivity.
Venus sextile Neptune March 23-24. Unusual attractions that add imagination, inspiration, and emotional "color" to our lives may occur now. We are attuned to the subtleties of human interaction, and we are more inclined to naturally cooperate with others. An imaginative, romantic time.

The Moon & Timing

The Void of Course Moon is the period of time after the Moon has made its last aspect in one sign until the Moon enters a new sign. During Void of Course Moon periods, it is generally wise to stick to routine rather than to begin new projects. The last aspect the Moon makes before changing signs is indicated here, and is indicative of the "outcome" of the matter (whether that is a new project begun before the void period, or the answer to a question in Horary Astrology). Void of Course in Horary Astrology: If you were asking a question and making a chart for the answer, as you do in Horary astrology, it is said that since the Moon is not looking forward to any more aspects in this sign, you would have to say that the answer is not forthcoming; any questions asked at this time would not come to pass. The Moon being Void is one of the Strictures against Judgment in Horary Astrology.

VOC Moon on Friday, March 20th, from 5:37 AM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to the Sun - a Solar Eclipse), until the Moon enters Aries at 6:28 AM EDT.

VOC Moon on Saturday, March 21st, from 6:51 PM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Mars), until the Moon enters Taurus the next day, Sunday, March 22nd, at 6:41 AM EDT.

This Week's Calendar

This Week's Aspects

Mercurysquare Mercury square Saturn. Getting from point A to point B can be a challenge during this transit due to obstacles. Communications may be blocked or delayed, and negative thinking could dominate at this time. Projects we thought were complete may need revision, and others could appear overly critical, insensitive, or sarcastic. It's difficult to trust our instincts, and we second-guess things automatically under this influence. Avoid signing on the dotted line at this time.

UranussquarePluto  Uranus square Pluto. This aspect can stimulate dissatisfaction with the way we've been living our lives, and with what we consider to be restrictions, whether these are internal or external ones. We may no longer be satisfied with superficial elements of our lives, humdrum routines, or situations that keep us feeling tied down or locked in. Buried feelings and motives can surface now, possibly erratically. Major changes can occur, and these help us to break out of monotony and to break bad habits. This is not the best time to make major commitments.

sesquiquadrateSaturn  Mars sesquiquadrate Saturn. We are called upon to solve problems, or our plans and efforts meet with resistance. Circumstances seem to block our efforts to assert ourselves. Patience is necessary now, although frustration is very likely. It can feel like more effort than usual is required to complete tasks.

MercuryconjunctNeptune Mercury conjunct Neptune. Our intuitive creativity is stimulated under this influence. A very positive transit for artistic and literary endeavors. We get insights into our own minds. Conscious reasoning can be distorted by subconscious matter, so concentrating on cold hard facts can be challenging. Daydreaming, visualization, and prophecy are stimulated. Communications may be unclear, vague, or downright confused. We may be subject to deception. Avoid signing contracts under this influence.

sesquiquadrateJupiter Sun sesquiquadrate Jupiter. We may feel vague restlessness and discontent with life as it is. We want more, but perhaps too much. Overestimation, wastefulness, and exaggeration. Elevated moods, but unstable ones, as they may not be based on reality.

VenusChiron Venus semi-square Chiron. Blocks to intimacy are possible now as we focus on differences rather than similarities in our relationships with others. We might have a hard time learning from one another as a result.

VenusinconjunctSaturn Venus quincunx Saturn. We are extra sensitive, but it can be difficult to know why. Anxiety may overcome us when we wish to express our affections or social urges, and this hesitation can express itself through inhibitions and emotional distancing.

Mercuryquincunx or inconjunctJupiter Mercury quincunx (inconjunct) Jupiter. We may have big ideas under this influence, but we may also overestimate our abilities or underestimate the situation. Avoid jumping into something without planning ahead, as important details are too easy to overlook. Also, avoid making promises you may not be able to fulfill, and read the fine print!

What's In Store By the Stars - Daily Astrology Trends

(as featured on our site's main page and in our Daily Trends Calendar)

MARCH 15
The Moon is in Capricorn all day, Mercury and Saturn are moving towards a square, and Capricorn's ruler, Saturn, is just coming out of a station. All of these point to a rather serious, sensitive and heavy energy with us today, but while we want to take it easy and carefully when making decisions, Uranus and Pluto are moving towards their final square, and impatience is part of the mix. Flexibility is not a strong point today, and the desire to stay in control of every situation may not be the best strategy now. We are more prone to error. Tonight's Moon-Sun sextile can help smooth over some differences.

MARCH 16
Mercury squares Saturn early today, and this can point to guarded, delayed, or negative communications. It's difficult to trust our instincts, and our thoughts or communications don't flow very naturally under this influence. The Moon leaves Capricorn and enters Aquarius at 6:15 AM EST. Uranus square Pluto for the last time in a series that first occurred in 2012. This aspect can stimulate dissatisfaction with the way we've been living our lives, and with what we consider to be restrictions, whether these are internal or external ones. We may become unsatisfied with superficial elements of our lives, humdrum routines, or situations that keep us feeling tied down or locked in. Buried feelings and motives can surface now, possibly erratically. Major changes can occur, and these help us to break out of monotony and to break bad habits. This is not the best time to make major commitments.

A void of course Moon occurs from 4:03 AM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a square to Venus), until the Moon enters Aquarius at 6:15 AM EDT.

MARCH 17
The Moon is in Aquarius all day, and we thrive on intellectual stimulation, change, and unusual or unconventional experiences. Venus enters Taurus today, where it will transit until April 11th, considerably toning down our desire to directly pursue our wants and needs. In Taurus, Venus is very sensual, mostly content, and possibly possessive. We seek security and value longevity. Our appetite for pleasure is strong. Taurus values the "here and now" as well as the world of the five senses. Tangible and physical expressions of love and romance are most important now. The shadow side of this is excessive possessiveness and treating our partners as objects that we own or want to own. On the financial side, Venus in Taurus looks for high-quality, solid, practical, and long-lasting items. We tend to hold on to and accumulate possessions rather than purge during this cycle. Tastes are definite. Mercury and Neptune are moving towards a conjunction, exact tomorrow morning, bringing imagination, color, and possibly confusion to our thoughts and communications.

A void of course Moon occurs from 2:19 PM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a sextile to Mars), until the Moon enters Pisces tomorrow, Wednesday, March 18th, at 6:58 AM EDT.

MARCH 18
Mercury aligns with Neptune this morning, and then the Moon aligns with both planets this evening. Our intuitive capacities are stimulated and possibly enhanced now, and we might apply these to everyday issues and problems. Conscious reasoning is distorted or enhanced by subconscious matter, depending on the application and how you look at it. It's not the best energy for detail work and work with hard facts, but it's good for visualizing and imagining. Communications can be inspired and inspirational, quite fanciful, or vague and unclear, and possibly deceptive. The Moon leaves Aquarius at 6:58 AM EDT, when it enters Pisces. Impracticality is a strong possibility today, and this is reinforced as we approach a challenging aspect between the Sun and Jupiter tonight, which can stimulate wastefulness. Ideally, discontent prompts us to make improvements and changes.

The Moon is void until it enters Pisces at 6:58 AM EDT.

MARCH 19
The Moon is in Pisces all day and is Balsamic, as a Solar Eclipse New Moon occurs tomorrow morning, making today a better time for reflection and tying up loose ends rather than new action. Tomorrow's eclipse is a total eclipse occurring in the very last degree of the zodiac, close to a lunar perigee, and occurring on the same day as the spring Equinox, making today especially important for centering ourselves. Tomorrow's energies are likely to clear a path for new beginnings.

MARCH 20
A New Moon Solar Eclipse occurs this morning in the last sign and last degree of the zodiac, Pisces. New beginnings regarding our faith and beliefs, accepting imperfections in ourselves and in others as a different kind of "perfection", selfless service, and imagination and visualization skills are in order. We are encouraged to let go of the past in a significant way so that we can move forward. The Moon enters Aries shortly after the eclipse, at 6:28 AM EDT. We're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh with an Aries Moon, and this theme is particularly powerful given it's the day of a Solar Eclipse. A gut instinct to start something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. The Sun also enters Aries today, at 6:46 PM EDT. In Aries, the Sun is enthusiastic and spontaneous. We are motivated by the desire to conquer. We are more impulsive, and have the urge to initiate. Aries is a sign that bounces back quickly. It is brave and pioneering, and somewhat innocent. We are direct and rather uncomplicated in our needs, but we can also be short-sighted and lack the desire to plan ahead.

A void of course Moon occurs from 5:37 AM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to the Sun - a Solar Eclipse), until the Moon enters Aries at 6:28 AM EDT.

MARCH 21
This morning, a quincunx between Venus and Saturn and then Mercury and Jupiter can leave us feeling stuck. We can be in an either-or position, feeling that if we do one thing, something else will suffer. It can be difficult integrating responsibilities and pleasure, logic and intuition, and so forth. There can be a need to slow down and consider priorities now, although with the Sun and Moon in Aries, and this evening, the Moon aligning with Mars, also in Aries, it may be difficult to pace ourselves. In fact, we can very easily get riled up, energized, and desirous of taking action.

A void of course Moon occurs from 6:51 PM EDT, with the Moon's last aspect before changing signs (a conjunction to Mars), until the Moon enters Taurus tomorrow, Sunday, March 22nd, at 6:41 AM EDT.

Moon Signs This Week:

When the Moon is in Capricorn

MoonCapricornrWe become aware of the need for structure and planning ahead. We also instinctively are aware of the limitations of time. We are motivated by a desire for success. Achievement and manifestation are most important to us now. We are resourceful and don't want to waste time, energy, or resources. This can be a very sober influence--even a depressing one. However, it can also be a productive time when we look reality in the eye.

The Moon in Capricorn generally favors the following activities: Long-term activities that yield slow but steady results, practical undertakings, career issues, making a business plan, practical investments.

When the Moon is in Aquarius

MoonAquarius Attraction to all that is new and unusual, and an instinctive need for improvement, characterize the Moon in Aquarius. Reactions are more intellectual than emotional, and interactions are more impersonal than personal, under this influence. This is a time that promotes social gatherings, dealing with group ideals and goals for the future, brainstorming, new ideas, and progressive changes. We are open to new methods of doing things and we have our eye on the future. It can be hard to stick to schedules now, as personal freedom is most important to us.

The Moon in Aquarius generally favors the following activities: Unusual or radical undertakings, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, joining a group.

When the Moon is in Pisces

MoonPiscesWe are not inclined to want to face reality while the Moon is in dreamy, impressionable Pisces. It can be a wistful, sensitive, intuitive, and compassionate time. We are especially imaginative, and our intuition reigns under this influence. Boundaries and walls come down, as Pisces energy merges and blends. It's a time when details are overlooked and feelings defy description.

The Moon in Pisces generally favors the following activities: Imaginative undertakings, mystical or spiritual pursuits, inner development, music and drama, going on a retreat, activities involving water.

When the Moon is in Aries

MoonAriesWe're motivated by a strong desire to start fresh. A gut instinct to start something new is with us now, as well as the gumption to do so. Our pioneering impulses are strong, and we feel energetic, spontaneous, and enthusiastic. We may also be tactless and impulsive now. Excess energy is best channeled into physical activity.

The Moon in Aries generally favors the following activities: Quick actions that yield immediate results. Undertakings that involve the self and the personality. (Staying power may be lacking). Self-assertion, taking on challenges, beginning short-term projects.

When the Moon is in...Transits of the Moon through the Signs.

This Week's Planetary Positions By Sign (General Trends):

Sun in Pisces The mystic, the martyr, the sinner, and the saint: these archetypes take on greater importance in your life at a time like this. Forgiveness, compassion, and understanding come naturally, when you look at life from an eternal perspective - and if anyone ever does know such things, you'll probably come to understand them as this cycle unfolds. This can be a phase of sublime spiritual development, to be sure. But you should be aware of tendencies to believe too quickly, too deeply, or to become dependent on things or people that seem to offer quick and easy answers to life's deepest yearnings.

Sun in Aries A new sense of self, a more assertive personal style, a more dynamic approach to life: these are the hallmarks of the cycle that begins for you now. Doubts fade into the background, and reserve is more and more a thing of the past. It's time for action; your destiny is in your hands, rather than set apart. Full speed ahead ("and damn the torpedoes") is your motto now, for better or for worse!

Mercury in Pisces Knowing things without knowing how you know them is typical at a time like this. The mystical, the universal, the eternal: these are the things that stir your curiosity. Call it psychic, call it deja vu ... it can be there when you call on it, whatever you call it. (Remembering the little things might become more difficult, however: it's tough to remember if you paid the electric bill when you're more interested in the eternal verities.)

Venus in Aries Romance at the drop of a hat is part and parcel of the cycle you have just begun. Winning the hearts of others can be a challenge you're eager to accept - and the thrill of the chase might be most of the fun. Is it the pursuit of happiness - or the happiness of pursuit?

Venus in Taurus A love of music, an appreciation for sensual pleasures and others of the finer things in life - such are the signs of the cycle which has begun for you. This is aesthetic and artistic to be sure, but it is also practical and materialistic: you develop a keen appreciation for the value of things, including the money it takes to buy them.

Mars in Aries Fresh challenges and initiatives light your fires now, as a new cycle begins in your life - lots of energy, a powerful urge to be first or come out on top. Away with the old and on to the new - let no one and nothing stand between you and your objective! Headstrong impulses and rash courage can take you far ... sometimes in harm's way, if you're not careful.

Jupiter in Leo High drama, big romance, a creative bonanza: this is the stuff dreams are made of now. The world is your stage, the spotlight is your goal, and the love and appreciation of others is the air you breathe. Children, lovers, admirers: these are the people who figure large in your life as this cycle progresses. A willingness to gamble on the future.

Saturn in Sagittarius The new phase now beginning in your life brings a need to break out of narrow concepts and legalistic philosophical or religious ideas. Remember: "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds." Opportunities to broaden your mental horizons may not come with ease, but they are essential if you are to avoid a kind of spiritual stagnation.

Uranus in Aries
A clean break with the past in some respects is signaled by the cycle you have just begun. What YOU need, YOUR freedom and independence, shattering old molds: these are the things that energize you and take priority in your life. Uniqueness and originality set you apart.

Neptune in Pisces Things spiritual and psychic take the driver's seat of your imagination as you begin a new cycle. The fine arts and all manner of fantasies assume a larger-than-life importance. Surrendering to fate, karma, and other powers greater than merely mortal may be seen as the ultimate liberation. If all is maya (illusion), what is the reality that gives rise to the world of appearances?

Pluto in Capricorn As this new phase dawns for you, the pursuit of social/political power and status has a way of seeming necessary and inevitable - and let nothing stand in its way. It starts out small, but has bigger consequences than you'd think. Ambition, responsibility, a place for everyone and everyone in their place...

The interpretations in this box are from the Day Watch software.
